Crafts are important to Julianna, Creative Consultant to JewelCraft. In fact, at one point in her life, crafting was all that kept her together. Her much-loved grandmother passed away, and Julianna was heart broken. She had just learned how to bead, so she began working on a project to take her mind off of her sorrow. Julianna worked, until three o’clock the morning after her grandmother’s death, on a very special bracelet made from beads in colors that represented her grandmother’s life. The project did, indeed, soothe her wounded spirit. In many ways, crafts make a difference in people’s lives-one of the most important reasons Julianna has become a dedicated friend of the crafts industry.

All through childhood, Julianna watched her grandmother and mother create beautiful items for their homes: needlework, macramé’, ribbon roses, ceramics and beading. Memories of their heartfelt efforts have been an underlying thread running through her career.

More than 12 years ago, Julianna began her career in the crafts industry with Aleene’s Creative Living, America’s #1-rated craft show on TNN, where she became a segment producer, popular demonstrator and Co-Host. Eventually, she produced and hosted her own television show, The Creative Corner™ with Julianna, which aired on cable channels throughout the nation. Her on-air appeal has afforded Julianna many opportunities to speak for crafts manufacturers and retailers. Among others, she was the television spokesperson for all seven hundred and fifty Ben Franklin Crafts and Ben Franklin Variety Stores.

Julianna has hosted and produced a number of how-to craft videos, including videos demonstrating her own beading and wire designs. She developed several innovative beading techniques and developed her own kits. She is author of two books on beading and is credited for being the “Fire Behind the Wire”. Her new book “Scrappin with Wire” is a huge success in the Scrapbook Industry. Julianna has been published and featured in many of the Industries Leading Books and Magazines. Prior experience in operations, sales, marketing and public relations provides a solid background for Julianna’s ventures in the world of crafts.

Today, Julianna contributes to the crafts industry in many ways. She continues to make regular appearances on the “Carol Duval” show on HGTV, “More Than Memories” on PBS, Scrapbook Memories on PBS, “DIY Scrapbook” and “Discovery”. She is a member of the Certified Professional Designer/Education committee of the Hobby Industry Association (HIA) and Society of Craft Designers (SCD). She is on the board of directors of Krafty-Chair-Ubs, a non-profit organization that takes crafts into children’s hospitals.
