    Instructions
Begin your project by trimming a ¼” off the length and a ¼” off the width of your red cardstock. Mount the red cardstock on blue cardstock. Then cut a 7¼”x 10¾” rectangle of the patterned paper and adhere it to the red cardstock as shown. Mat your photo with red cardstock and place it on the patterned paper. To create the title, follow these steps:

Use Microsoft Word’s WordArt to manipulate your text into a circle. For the example shown, I used the Earwig font. Print the text on a plain piece of computer paper. Trace the printed title onto vellum using the Slick Writer pens. Tip: If you don’t have the Earwig font, or aren’t familiar with WordArt, you can create a similar title by cutting a circle slightly smaller than you want your finished title to be. Using the circle as your guide, write or trace your title onto the vellum, leaving enough space around each letter to draw boxes around each letter and color them in. Mat the title with a layer of patterned paper and a layer of blue cardstock as shown.

Next, cut two 7” strands of red and blue wire. Fold them in half to create a loop. String 3 Freedom beads on the wire and twist to close the loop. Using a thumbtack or other piercing tool, poke two holes through your title just above where you will place your flag. Tie down your wire loop to your title by crossing a small piece of red wire over the twisted part of the loop and poking it down through the two holes and twisting it together on the back side. Cover the wire edges on the backside by taping or gluing down a scrap piece of cardstock or you can use a piece of Scotch Acid Free Mending Tape. Glue the American Caviar Bead Flag over the wire. I used Glue Dots. String Freedom Beads on the wire ends below the flag and curl the ends of the wire into loops with your round-nose pliers to hold the beads in place. Finish by gluing the mini stars from the American Flag Caviar Bead to the top of your title.

To create the fireworks, I used the red, white and blue beads from the Freedom Bead pack and the gold bugle beads from the Heritage Bead Pack. For the large firework, cut two 4” pieces of blue wire and one 3” piece of blue wire. String with the beads and finish each edge with a star charm, looping the ends of the wire with your round-nose pliers. Cross the three beaded wires over each other and use small pieces of scrap wire to cross over the beaded wire to the backside of your layout to hold your embellishment in place.

Repeat this process for the small firework, but cut one 2” piece of red wire and two 1½” pieces of red wire to create your embellishment. Finish your layout by journaling with a white gel pen.
